Painting From a Dream, Finished!

Painting From a Dream, Finished!

At the end of 2019, just before the year that the world changed, I had an intense dream that woke me up with a start.

I was shocked by what I saw and knew I needed to paint it. Here is “Painting From a Dream,” completed, with video showing parts of the process as well.

I hope this painting and the message it contains both challenges and encourages you! It’s taken a while to finish the painting. But I finally have!

Some have asked me about it, so I decided it was time to post this video. This is a 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas.

Some might consider this “prophetic art.” But this really is a painting, with what I feel is a Biblical, Christian message, inspired by a dream.

Perhaps it is prophetic, especially considering the tumultuous events of the last two years!

One thing is clear: Focus on Jesus, and you won’t go wrong.

  3. I love this painting but also find it a little worrying, the world as we know it will never be the same and I feel this is telling us that.

I know, deep in my heart I’d love to paint Biblical truth but have no idea how to go about it.
Any recommendations ; books, names, websites that you know of?
I have only mastered one painting and use that to explain to the visitors of my artwork the way of Salvation but want to do more.
Thanks so much for sharing so very personally what you have learned through God’s Word the way to be saved and to share that.

    • Trudy, somehow I missed this comment, but I wanted to reply even though it’s coming so, so late. I was thinking of doing a course on this idea of painting Biblical truth. I want to get into it more on my own art. And I’d love to see you do that too. Maybe we can chat more about this via email. It’s not too late for us to do this!

  9. Matt, beautiful expression of a significant dream from the Lord; and you were faithful to capture on canvas. May its message resonant and bring forth much fruit, causing ones to selah — taking time to consider eternity. Lord, multiply mercy, peace and love – Jude 2

  11. Hello Matt,
I’m 69 years old and a forever student of acrylic painting.
I’ve been watching your tutorials for a couple of years.i love your work. This video touched my heart so much I had to write to you. I’ve had a recurring dream very similar to this and I fully understand the need to paint it. You’ve inspired me to give it a try. Thank you for sharing this. God Bless !

    • Late reply, Rose. I was having problems with spam comments on my blog and now notice a bunch of comments in backlog. Are you still interested in painting something similar to “Painting of a Dream?”

  12. An interesting painting, Matt. You said it was in black and white. I only dream in color. I write most of my dreams down in a book. I am now on a second book. Are all your dreams only in black and white? I believe that dreams are a gift from God. My brother had a dream that he and I were at the gates of Heaven and the Angel said to us, ” I know who you are and the Angel spoke our names and as we looked beyond the gates, our Mother was coming to greet us and other people we knew were there. I had a dream of the Angels playing music and it was nothing I have ever heard in this world – the horns were very long. I am so glad my Mother inspired me to write the dreams in a book. Thank you for your painting. We all need to pay more attention as the end draws nearer. Thank you for your prayers.

    • That is powerful, Catherine. I’d love to read your book! I’m sorry for the very, very late reply. I had problems with spam comments on my blog and so a bunch of comments were held back for review. I didn’t notice them until now. Thanks for the kind words.
